Acupressure for labour

Acupressure for labour

Photo:gaelxWhen I was about 30 weeks pregnant, Hubbie and I went to an Acupressure for Labour class. It was really good. Terri, the woman teaching it, has used acupressure on all her labours, and said she swears by it. She taught us pressure points for basic relaxation, and then pressure points to use for different stages of labour – early labour, speeding things up if labour is slow to progress, and even a special pressure point only to be used during the pushing stage. She also taught us (well taught my husband!) back massage and relaxation massage techniques for use between now and the end of the pregnancy. She teaches the classes in Drogheda and in Mayo, so if any of you are within easy access of those areas, I’d highly recommend the class. Read my birth story to learn how I found it on the day!
